Meet your coach

Joel is a health and fitness coach who guides a vibrant community of Salt Springers through group, couples and one on one fitness programs. He has been a devoted yoga and meditation practitioner and teacher for almost 3 decades- these ancient teachings which he actively studies influence his approach to long-term wellness and strength. 

Joel's passion and vigor is contagious, in a yoga or fitness class you’ll end up trying something you never thought you could do while laughing at the same time. He's known to be always sipping on some strange but healthy drink and making functional beauty from scrap wood piles. Joel’s authentic and candid nature create an atmosphere where one feels comfortable to be open. 

Joel is a NASM Fitness Professional and is certified in the instruction of Ashtanga (200 hours), Moksha/Modo Level 1 & 2 (700 hours), Vinyasa (200 hours), Pranayama (200 hours)  and has many more hours of formal study time.

Joel is a bright hearted health nut with a deep rooted spiritual life.

Workout out with Joel has been an absolute game-changer. 

Finding my workout footing after becoming a mom was harder than I thought it would be, and I was having a difficult time carving out the time and space to show up for myself. Having one workout a week that was scheduled (and paid for!) not only made it easier for me to show up for myself, but it was also a place where I was gently pushed outside my comfort zone. 

Joel has a great way of both honouring your own sovereignty and wisdom when it comes to knowing your limits while being able to show you that sometimes (many times) you're stronger than you think.

In the nearly two years I've been training with Joel, I've found what feels like my old-new level of fitness and have cultivated friendships that exist both within and outside the gym. 

I would highly recommend Joel's workouts to anyone who's looking to get stronger, build confidence, and have some good laughs while doing it.

Gym Rules!

  1. Have fun, challenge yourself!

  2. Be comfortable, ask questions, honour your limits, change weight amount when necessary

  3. Wear indoor shoes only

  4. Bring water and sweat towel

  5. 1 month commitment, 24 hour cancellation (1 cancellation per month max)
